This Copycat Red Robin Seasoning is a heavenly seasoned salt that’s incredible on everything from fried or roasted potatoes to veggie burgers + tacos. With only 11 ingredients and 10 minutes, you’ll have the perfect spicy / salty / zesty seasoning to add to your spice cabinet!
If you’ve ever stepped foot in a Red Robin restaurant (a gourmet burger chain here in the US), this Copycat Red Robin Seasoning probably needs no introduction. You can find this stuff on every table and on just about every basket of bottomless fries in the place. It’s kind of a big deal.
When I was growing up, Red Robin was a happenin’ place to gather with friends on a Friday night or grab lunch after a Saturday at the mall with your mom. It was on one of these outings that I first tried and became obsessed with this seasoning salt.
Up until this point, I was pretty much a potato purist. No ketchup or fancy seasonings for me, thanks. Just let me at those fries! But when a friend encouraged me to try it and promised life-changing results, curiosity got the better of me.
Literally one whiff of this stuff, and I was sold. IT SMELLED SO GOOD! And at this point in my life, I had absolutely, positively ZERO idea of how food turned from ingredients to a meal or how seasoning even worked, so I was pretty sure what I was tasting / smelling was magic. Now I’m making my own without a second thought which is sooo full circle, and I love it.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to make a homemade Copycat Red Robin Seasoning for a few years, and when we finally made our purrrrfect, meaty vegan burgers, I knew the time was nigh.
And friends, I am so very happy with how it turned out.
How to Make Copycat Red Robin Seasoning
All you have to do is throw a bunch of seasonings in your food processor, pulse a few times, and BAM. You just made your own Copycat Red Robin seasoning AT HOME. How cool is that? 16-year-old Brittany would have been very impressed with 29-year-old Brittany in this moment.
Although the original seasoning is vegan, I have seen some recipes that call for milk powder. This inspired me to add some nutritional yeast to the mix, and I’m glad I did! It adds a great thickness and savory flavor that ROCKS.
Other than the nutritional yeast, you’ll need a mix of 10 basic pantry staples you probably have right now – like paprika, chili powder, and celery salt. I also added a Tbsp of sugar which I know may sound weird, but it gives this seasoning mix a flavor POW like you wouldn’t believe. You can omit it if you reaaaally want to though.
Other Seasoning Mix Recipes:
- Coconut Bac’n Salt
- Life-Changing Chicken(less) Bouillon Powder
- Vegan Cheesy Garlic Butter Blend
- Homemade Chili Seasoning
This Copycat Red Robin Seasoning has become a total staple in our spice cabinet, and we hope it does for you too! Use it on fried or roasted potatoes, burgers, tacos + burritos. It can also add a Southwestern kick to tofu scramble, pizzas, basically ALL the things!
