Air-Fried Croutons

Brittany Roche
Nothing shakes up a boring old soup or salad quite like homemade croutons, and these flavorful AF air-fried croutons do NOT disappoint! They take about 5 minutes to throw together and 15 to cook, giving you plenty of time to assemble the rest of your meal and maybe do a quick dance around the kitchen with a glass of wine. Welcome to crouton heaven, my friends!

Ingredients

  • 6 slices whole wheat bread see notes for gluten free, cubed
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil see notes for oil free**
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  • Add your cubed bread to a large bowl or container (I like to use something with a lid). Carefully drizzle on the olive oil and add the spices. Toss with your hands, or if you're using a container with a lid, put it on and shake, shake shake until all the bread cubes are evenly coated.
  • Add the bread cubes to your air fryer basket and fry at 300F for 10-15 minutes, stopping to shake the basket every 5 minutes. They're ready when they're crisp and slightly golden.
  • Serve on top of salads or soups, and enjoy! Once they cool, you can store leftovers in an airtight container in your pantry for up to a week.

Notes

*To make these croutons gluten-free, simply use gluten-free bread!
**To make these croutons oil-free, omit the oil and lightly spray them with water before tossing in seasoning, so the seasoning will stick to the bread.
