Ingredients

  • 6 firm small apples peeled and cut into large chunks
  • 1-3 Tbsp light brown sugar or coconut sugar or a mix of the 2
  • 3 Tbsp vegan butter or refined coconut oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp water or bourbon

Instructions

  • Heat a medium to large saute pan over medium-high heat and melt your vegan butter.
  • When the butter has melted, add your chopped apples, stir (or toss) to coat, and cover. Let it cook like this for 5 minutes.
  • Then, add the sugar, cinnamon, and water. Cover and let them cook for another 7 minutes or until soft, stirring often.
  • Serve these warm cinnamon apples hot either on their own or used to top everything from pancakes and waffles to ice cream and oatmeal. They also make a great side dish.
