Homemade Veggie Sausages

You'll need: Vital wheat gluten, all-purpose flour, Italian herbs, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, olive oil, garlic, marinara, refined coconut oil

Step 1: Saute the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes in the olive oil on medium heat for 1-3 minutes.

Step 2: Whisk the dry ingredients for our veggie sausages in a large mixing bowl. In a separate mixing bowl, mix together the wet ingredients, including the contents of the saute pan.

Step 3: Create a well in the center of the dry mix and pour in the wet mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon or rubber spatula until a rough dough ball forms.

Step 4: Next, get your hands in there and knead the veggie sausage mix gently for just 30 seconds. Do not overknead!

Step 5: Then, cut the veggie sausage mix into 8 equal pieces and prepare 8 (6-8-inch) pieces of tin foil to wrap them in.

Step 6: Shape each piece into a long sausage shape and wrap in tin foil, twisting the ends to contain the veggie sausage mix in the foil. Steam for 30 minutes.

When the veggie sausages are cool enough to touch, unwrap them and either store or cook them to eat right away!
