Vegetarian Spinach Pesto Pizza

You'll need: all purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, onion & garlic powder, pepper, sugar, salt, beer, spinach pesto, plant-based sausage

We use our homemade vegan spinach pesto for this recipe. It's so easy to make!

Step 1: In a small bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, onion and garlic powders, sugar, and salt.

Step 2: Make a well in the center of your dry mixture. Pour the beer into this well in the dry mix.

Step 3: Stir the wheat pizza dough until you get a rough shaggy dough. Use your hands to bring the dough together into a ball.

Step 4: Then, turn onto a floured surface, sprinkle with more flour, and knead for 3 minutes, adding flour as needed.

Step 5: You want the dough to be pretty smooth and not sticking to your fingers. If it's still sticking to your fingers, knead more flour, a little at a time.

Step 6: Place the wheat pizza dough in the center of a 12-inch cast-iron pan and start pressing down and out with your hands to form the pizza crust.

Step 7: Spread a thick layer of spinach pesto on the crust (make sure to leave room at the ends for the crust!).

Step 8: Then, spread an even layer of vegan sausage on top of the pesto. We used our homemade walnut sausage which is so flavorful and tender on this pizza!

Step 9: Cook your spinach pesto pizza at 425F for 15-20 minutes. Let cool a couple minutes before slicing and serving!
