Pasta Sauce from Fresh Tomatoes

You'll need: Fresh tomatoes, tomato paste, olive oil, onions, garlic, salt, fresh basil, diced tomatoes, bouillon powder, wine, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes

Step 1: First, blend the fresh tomatoes and tomato paste until the mixture is smooth like this.

Step 2: Saute the onion and garlic in the olive oil with a pinch of salt until the onions are translucent.

Step 3: Stir in the basil to coat. Then, add the diced tomatoes, wine, bouillon, 4 cups water, and the contents of your blender. Bring this to a boil.

Step 4: When boiling, remove the cover and stir in the remainder of the ingredients.Simmer uncovered stirring occasionally for 3-5 hours until it reaches your desired consistency.

If you'd like a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender during the simmering process. I use it just a little bit to get a nice balance of creamy and chunky. Enjoy!
